I do beleive the apprentice between Isaacs and Benniston is in fact “Jock” McCrindle and not me. I was a Trumpeter, if you remember, and not subject to Parades and Route Lining duties but to the less strenuous activities of the band such as sounding the “Last Post” at the Cenotaph!……I could be wrong!
July 12th, 2008 at 08:53You are not wrong - I was looking for you, without success but spotted Jock.

I seem to remmeber Mick cornering him at the entry dinner and giving him a piece of his (Mick’s) mind…very funny at the time!

December 1st, 2008 at 14:16Ivan Millington says ”much less strenuous duties playing his trumpet”.
There was nothing non-strenuous about the way that Ivan blew a trumpet as I remember it!

December 1st, 2008 at 14:21Hello Ivan,
April 5th, 2009 at 21:16Looking at the picture of you and me on the diving board. between us and in front is Terry Pallister who was in the 81st or 83rd entry. If I remember correctly the picture was taken at RAAF Butterworth in Malaya in 1964. We were there with a detachment of Vulcans. The swimming pool was right beside the beach and you may remember the Army landing craft which hit a sandbank a couple of hundred yards from shore and was stranded there all day until a frigate came and towed it off. I last saw Terry when I was at St Athan in 1974. He had left the RAF and was working for a firm specializing in NDT and at the time was working at Rhoose Airport just outside Cardiff.
