Congratulations to Spain for winning the football World Cup. They were worthy winners and second only to the English referee! Well done also, to South Africa, for staging a very successful tournament despite the many doubters. It is such a great pity the football on display during the competion was crap!

Interesting front page! It seems our US cousins beat the British and not England. Geography was never the Americans strong point. Their maths is also a little suspect. Meanwhile, I only made £10 from the game so England really must ‘buck up’.
